Saturday at The Met: “The Sandy Schreier Collection”

I’ve lived in New York City for a year now and I’ve only been to The Met one time, which was for the Camp exhibition. I guess it’s because I find it’s always packed with tourists, so I’ve found so many other non-touristy things to do. BUT, last Saturday I visited because I wanted to see the new fashion exhibit “In Pursuit of Fashion, The Sandy Schreier Collection.” It was so lovely and I especially loved the pieces from the ’20s and the green and orange dress featured below with orange flowers on the sleeves. I decided to explore some of the paintings in the museum. It can make me feel so overwhelmed since there is so much to see, but I definitely want to go back and visit a new area!
Socks and Mary Jane’s

I love a high sock and heel moment. First, I absolutely love these shoes. I first discovered the John Fluevog brand when as I was strolling through Soho one Saturday afternoon with my friends. The interior of the store, along with the set up of the funky shoes, immediately caught my attention and I had to go inside. I fell in love with the pair I’m wearing, and my mom gifted them to me for Christmas. I can never find shoes that fit my feet perfectly, I’m either slipping out of them or they are way too tight, and I was so happy when these shoes fit perfectly!
Pretty Tops for Your Wardrobe

As January is coming to a close and February is on the horizon, I start to go through my winter wardrobe and put away my red and navy plaids, and dig into my spring/summer pieces and grab a few that are perfect for transitioning from February to March. Especially with blouses I find that quite a few of my spring/summer ones I can style in a way that makes them appropriate to wear even in mid-winter.

It’s Christmas in Greenwich Village

Christmas has finally arrived here in Manhattan, and Greenwich Village is decked out. The military coat I’m wearing is from Zara last year, and I absolutely love it. Now every year I look forward to taking it out during the holidays because I think it’s the epitome of a Christmas coat! My Meme gave me this headband and I absolutely love it for winter in the city.
Karl Lagerfeld’s Last Collection for Chanel

The Grand Palais was transformed into a beautiful snowy wonderland this morning for Karl Lagerfeld’s last collection with Chanel. I can’t even imagine how much emotion this day has brought to the people at Chanel, the models, and everyone attending that have memories with him. It’s an honor to attend any Chanel show, but this one definitely felt different for everyone there. Karl was honored with a moment of silence, a card was placed on every seat with an illustration by Karl of him and Coco Chanel saying “The beat goes on…”, along with a voiceover of Karl from a recent podcast. Dark Florals are Perfect for Transitioning into Spring

As February comes to a close and March is around the corner, I start to want to wear my spring wardrobe. Like everyone, I’m getting bored of my winter wardrobe and want to start bringing more florals into my everyday looks. Since it’s a little early to start wearing lighter florals, I’m leaning towards dark florals to get me through these next few weeks. Keep on Reading!
Scarves, My New Go-To Favorite Accessory

Since forever I’ve been looking for my go-to accessory, and finally this year I think I’ve found it. We all struggle with bad hair days or days when the wind completely messes with it. Now, I’ve been collecting scarves to wrap around my hair which immediately makes me look chic and classic. I’ve seen this look on all my favorite style icons like Audrey Hepburn, Princess Diana, and Grace Kelly. I wore a head scarf in this look as well. Keep on Reading!
Wardrobe Essentials to Get You Through the NYC Winter

The winter time can be rough, especially if you live in a place where the weather is constantly changing. But aside from those random 50 degree days, it can get very cold. A Sweater Vest I love

I’ve always loved the Kate Spade brand. Especially with their newest collection for Spring/Summer launching in the stores just about two weeks ago, being in NYC I had to go check it out. I wrote about the new collection and campaign here. Everything is girly & floral & whimsical, and I couldn’t resist getting this sweater vest. Keep on Reading!
Adding Pinks and Reds to Your February Wardrobe

Is it just me, or was January a reaalllyy long month? Now that February is finally here, and although this month can be the worst for winter, I also like to take this month to focus on myself. Valentine’s Day is approaching and even if you don’t have a special someone, and if you’re away from home like me, you can still spend this time taking care of yourself. Keep on Reading!
How Blair Waldorf Helped Shape My Style

Ever since watching Gossip Girl for the first time about five years ago, Blair Waldorf’s iconic, preppy style has inspired me. It may have taken a while (about 3-4 years) to dress how I wanted to and imagined for years, but now that I am, it’s made me realize the one person who completely inspired me is Blair Waldorf.
