Saturday at The Met: “The Sandy Schreier Collection”

I’ve lived in New York City for a year now and I’ve only been to The Met one time, which was for the Camp exhibition. I guess it’s because I find it’s always packed with tourists, so I’ve found so many other non-touristy things to do. BUT, last Saturday I visited because I wanted to see the new fashion exhibit “In Pursuit of Fashion, The Sandy Schreier Collection.” It was so lovely and I especially loved the pieces from the ’20s and the green and orange dress featured below with orange flowers on the sleeves. I decided to explore some of the paintings in the museum. It can make me feel so overwhelmed since there is so much to see, but I definitely want to go back and visit a new area!
Socks and Mary Jane’s

I love a high sock and heel moment. First, I absolutely love these shoes. I first discovered the John Fluevog brand when as I was strolling through Soho one Saturday afternoon with my friends. The interior of the store, along with the set up of the funky shoes, immediately caught my attention and I had to go inside. I fell in love with the pair I’m wearing, and my mom gifted them to me for Christmas. I can never find shoes that fit my feet perfectly, I’m either slipping out of them or they are way too tight, and I was so happy when these shoes fit perfectly!

It’s Christmas in Greenwich Village

Christmas has finally arrived here in Manhattan, and Greenwich Village is decked out. The military coat I’m wearing is from Zara last year, and I absolutely love it. Now every year I look forward to taking it out during the holidays because I think it’s the epitome of a Christmas coat! My Meme gave me this headband and I absolutely love it for winter in the city.
Purple and Red // Inspired by Princess Diana

There’s no denying that Princess Diana is one of the greatest style icons. Her looks were always so glamorous and chic, and they spoke volumes. She was always dressed appropriately and dressed to the nines. I wouldn’t mind if her hat collection just magically appeared in my closet over night. Keep on Reading!
Scarves, My New Go-To Favorite Accessory

Since forever I’ve been looking for my go-to accessory, and finally this year I think I’ve found it. We all struggle with bad hair days or days when the wind completely messes with it. Now, I’ve been collecting scarves to wrap around my hair which immediately makes me look chic and classic. I’ve seen this look on all my favorite style icons like Audrey Hepburn, Princess Diana, and Grace Kelly. I wore a head scarf in this look as well. Keep on Reading!
A Sweater Vest I love

I’ve always loved the Kate Spade brand. Especially with their newest collection for Spring/Summer launching in the stores just about two weeks ago, being in NYC I had to go check it out. I wrote about the new collection and campaign here. Everything is girly & floral & whimsical, and I couldn’t resist getting this sweater vest. Keep on Reading!
My Ultimate Winter Essential & A Pink and Red Look

My ultimate winter essential for beating the cold and still looking fabulous and chic is tights. For me, specifically colored tights. I’ve just started wearing them this year, and I don’t think I’m ever going to stop. They add a level of uniqueness and color to any look. Whether your adding them for a pop of color, or to make a color pop that’s in the look already, they seriously don’t disappoint. Keep on Reading!
The Most Lovely Dress I Have Ever Seen

Feminine and classy. Has a bow in the back. Pink. High neckline. It really is the most lovely dress I’ve ever seen. It’s so flattering, and perfect for every holiday event you have marked on your calendar. Keep on Reading!
Tweed and Lace

I’m loving this tweed and lace combo for the holiday season. I got these lace tights to experiment with and put together different looks with. Tights are a unique way to add color, or in this case a different texture to your looks in the fall and winter. Keep on Reading!
Cheetah Chic

I’m loving cheetah print this fall, and I can’t stop adding all my favorite cheetah printed clothing and shoes to my wishlist! Instead of pairing these cheetah print jeans with a solid black sweater, I decided to add a print in. I love this sleeveless striped sweater with the cheetah print. Keep on Reading!
Navy and Pink

What’s a wardrobe without bows? Good thing I’ll never know. This bow blouse from the Atlantic Pacific x Halogen collection has my heart! The velvet bow detailing with the two shades of pink looks lovely paired with navy below, but for a more casual look I’d definitely wear it with a pair of jeans. Keep on Reading!
Pops of Color for a Gloomy Day

The weather was such a tease the past couple days that when I woke up this morning it was very disappointing to see that the weather wasn’t warm, and that there was SNOW on the ground:( This outfit was the perfect outfit for today because although it was cold and cloudy outside, the pops of color made me feel more cheerful and hopeful for warmer weather. If I were going out in this outfit today I would throw on a pair of black tights to keep me warmer! The dress, shoes, and earrings are old from Zara so I linked some of my favorite colorful dresses, flower earrings, and black slingbacks above. The trenchcoat is also old from Express but I linked a very similar one from J.Crew! Hope you all have a great weekend:)

Happy holidays everyone!! I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving and long weekend! I got my Christmas tree this weekend and decorated the house; I love when the house is decorated, I think it makes everything more homier. This is definitely the best time of year, I love all the lights and decorations. Boston is the closest big city to where I live, and it’s so pretty during the holidays!
I’m also a big fan of holiday fashion. Red is one of my favorite colors, and although I do wear it all year round, wearing it during this time of year is different!! Velvet, sparkles, and the color red are my all time favorites to wear this season! In these photos I’m wearing an emerald green velvet dress with red earrings, coat, and heels. I love this color combo!! I also paired this gold sparkly purse with the outfit, because every outfit can use some sparkle! This dress was my moms and she used to wear it during the holiday season when she was younger! She kept a few pieces of clothing from when she was younger, and I’m so glad I get to wear it!
Down below I’m going to link some of my other favorite green dresses for the holidays!

I’m loving velvet lately!! I bought my top and pants at TJMaxx, but I can’t find them on the online website so I linked similar pieces! The shirt is short sleeve, so I paired this leather jacket with it to wear when outside walking. I think the pearls are perfect with this outfit and add just enough to make the outfit complete! The shoes I just love with this look, they’re super comfy, and when I put them on it was almost like they were meant for this outfit! The shoes are by Donald J Pliner and I got them a while ago so I couldn’t find them online, but I linked similar ones above!
Down below I have a few velvet outfit ideas for the holidays! Velvet is perfect to wear around this time of year because it’s a winter fashion must-have, and also is warm!
