I’m always on the hunt for new shops and designers to buy from, and with Instagram being a huge place where you can find tons of new designers daily, I take advantage of this. I recently came across Alice McCall’s Resort 2020 collection, and completely fell in love.
The fashion has been glamorous on the French Riviera for the 2019 Cannes Film Festival. Here are my favorite looks.
New York City is one of the most populated places in the world, and it’s one of the most loneliest ones as well. It’s very easy to feel lonely although your surrounded by so many people constantly. For me, coming to the city and knowing this was comforting, because in a city there is so much to do by yourself compared to a small town.
Although Louis Vuitton didn’t have the best dressed celebrities at this years Met Gala; a few to name are Emma Stone, Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner, and Laura Harrier. But, their Resort 2020 collection that debuted last week was great.
This past Friday Virginie Viard debuted her first solo collection for Chanel after Karl Lagerfeld’s passing in February. The Resort 2020 show had a classic Chanel feel, but I can definitely see the change that Virginie Viard is putting into action at Chanel, but change isn’t always a bad thing!
Last nights Met Gala was anything but boring, from tulle to heads and chandeliers, I’m very happy with the turnout of celebrities in actual “camp” like fashion. I normally see a sea of basic dresses that aren’t related to the theme whatsoever, but these year proved us all wrong. Of course there are still attendees that didn’t have their best dressed moment, but they were some outfits that I just can’t get enough of.
The Met Gala is the most extravagant event on the fashion calendar every year. To get invited to this event is a huge honor, and quite hard. But, once you are invited to the event it doesn’t stop there. What you wear to the Met Gala is the most important, because if it’s magnificent you’ll be the talk of the year, and we can say the same if you’re not. Every year there tends to be a few that gravitate towards the mermaid skin tight dresses, but we can’t focus on the negative when we have guests showing up in extravagant gowns and headpieces. The guests that dress to the theme truly take the event to another level, and I enjoy looking at the outfits every year.
The first Monday in May is a huge day in fashion, actually, the best day in fashion of the entire year. It’s the Oscars of the fashion world, and everyone waits all year long to see what the attendees are wearing and whom they are wearing. The most intriguing part of the whole event for me is that there’s always a theme, and that guests are highly encouraged to dress to the theme, although we always seem to see those tightly fitted mermaid dresses still.
Searching endlessly online and in stores for classic, girly, feminine dresses and have constantly be let down when I can’t find any, or find pieces but they have a pricey tag on them. About a year ago, Julia Engel of Gal Meets Glam quite literally came to the rescue and saved all of us girls. Keep on Reading!
I discovered Alessandra Rich just a few weeks ago on one of my intense pinning sessions. Goodness, once you go down the Pinterest rabbit hole there is no returning. Whilst pinning away I came across a photo of a model wearing one of the SS19 looks; it was the one with the model close up, in a yellow floral dress with matching belt, with lovely gloves on(that now made me realize I absolutely need a pair). She was accessorized in over sized pearls(um, YES please!) and an oversized headband. In that moment, I was hooked. Keep on Reading!
The prints and colors in the spring 2019 collection at Michael Kors are to die for. Bright and cheery, the pieces certainly are mood boosters for anyone that wears them. The daisy print featured in lime greens to pinks and yellows and all shades of blue, there’s no surprise that anyone that’s a lover of color wants to take this collection for a spin on a summer vacation. Even better, there are matching hats to top off the looks. Along with the daisy print that I absolutely adore, I love the pop of zebra print that is featured on bags and shoes. Keep on Reading!
In a time in the fashion world where the trends are constantly changing, street style is at it’s peak, and brands are obsessed with using logos to attract the younger audience, how do you find your personal style? Keep on Reading!
“Camo but make it fashion.” That’s the first thing that came to mind when I viewed the Miu Miu Fall 2019 collection online yesterday. Of course there were bright florals and a-line dresses, but the introduction of camouflage was very unexpected for me, but I actually like it. Keep on Reading!
The Grand Palais was transformed into a beautiful snowy wonderland this morning for Karl Lagerfeld’s last collection with Chanel. I can’t even imagine how much emotion this day has brought to the people at Chanel, the models, and everyone attending that have memories with him. It’s an honor to attend any Chanel show, but this one definitely felt different for everyone there. Karl was honored with a moment of silence, a card was placed on every seat with an illustration by Karl of him and Coco Chanel saying “The beat goes on…”, along with a voiceover of Karl from a recent podcast. Neon isn’t being left in 2018, and Anthony Vaccarello proved that to us during the Saint Laurent Fall 2019 Ready-to-Wear collection that was shown in Paris just last week. Keep on Reading!
I will never forget the time I first came across Karl Lagerfeld and his work for Chanel. It completely changed my perspective on fashion, and inspired me so much to dream big and wear the things I love. I thank Karl Lagerfeld for having such a creative mind and sharing it with the fashion community. He’ll never be forgotten, and definitely left a mark on the fashion industry. Keep on Reading!
Kate Spade just launched their new collection and Spring Summer 2019 campaign today and it’s feminine, whimsical, and totally me.
Elie Saab’s Spring 2019 Couture collection is an underwater dream
Inspired by the sea, Elie Saab’s gowns and pantsuits for Spring/Summer Couture are oh so perfect. Coral branches were imagined in sequins or lace. The gowns have incredible movement; with the use of tulle and organza it made all the models look like beautiful flowing mermaids. One of the mini dresses has coral sea blossoms covering its entirety with gold accents and feathers throughout, giving off a retro-like feel that I always love. Keep on Reading!
Karl Lagerfeld never fails to take the Chanel shows to another place. From launching a rocket ship to a beach, and even a grocery store, the scenes never disappoint, as the clothes never do either. For this couture show Lagerfeld turned the Grand Palais into an Italian Villa sure making us all long even more for sunnier days. Keep on Reading!
