Since I’m practicing social distancing I’ve been spending much more time at home and have been keeping myself inspired by using Pinterest and reading magazines online. I’m currently not in New York City and I’m back home in Massachusetts, so I’m taking this time to read and create new mood boards for the upcoming months. I’m very fond of scrolling through Pinterest and finding new home and style inspiration, recently particular to home gardens.
This past Friday I watched an Instagram live with Whitney Robinson and Jonathan Adler, both who I admire dearly. Johnathan used the word festoon in saying how you should decorate your spaces now, especially during this time when we’re all at home. Now I can’t get the word out of my head and it’s all I can think about. Festoon your space! Festoon every room in your home! I feel like I’ve been indirectly using that word for years now as I’m definitely a more is more person. I recently wrote about some of my favorite spring decor pieces here.
I was deep into my Pinterest scrolling when I started to come across quite a few home gardens that I absolutely loved. I don’t have a home garden but I do have a back deck that I adorn with flowers in the spring and summer time. I think it’s so important to have a botanical space in your home to go to and be able to wind down, whether to read a book, to paint, or to ponder creatively.
Here are remarkable home gardens to procure inspiration from.
