Saturday at The Met: “The Sandy Schreier Collection”

I’ve lived in New York City for a year now and I’ve only been to The Met one time, which was for the Camp exhibition. I guess it’s because I find it’s always packed with tourists, so I’ve found so many other non-touristy things to do. BUT, last Saturday I visited because I wanted to see the new fashion exhibit “In Pursuit of Fashion, The Sandy Schreier Collection.” It was so lovely and I especially loved the pieces from the ’20s and the green and orange dress featured below with orange flowers on the sleeves. I decided to explore some of the paintings in the museum. It can make me feel so overwhelmed since there is so much to see, but I definitely want to go back and visit a new area!

These vases are so stunning and the blue and white color way is reminding me of summer

Would you look at this necklace!

I know this is so cliché, but when I look at these paintings it just amazes me with the amount of detail that goes into them. I took a few painting classes a couple of years ago and it’s so hard to master technique and create real-like features. Sometimes it’s so nice to stop and appreciate all the detail in a painting.

Dresses from the ’20s! I also loved that throughout the exhibition every section the mannequins had a unique head accessory.

WOW. To have a head piece like this!
