Critics’ Choice Awards Best and Worst Dressed

Critics’ Choice Awards Best and Worst Dressed

The Critics’ Choice Awards red carpet impressed me far more than the Golden Globes. There were lots of unexpected color choices that I loved. All to remember that this is fashion-based judgement and not anything personal.

First, Best Dressed

Saoirse Ronan wearing Erdem. I love the coral color of this frock and although it’s not form fitting in which a dress like this could be worn badly, it looks great. The high collar and ruffle hem is very flattering.

Nicole Kidman wearing Armani Privé. I’m not a fan of an all-black look, but I really like this gown. The thick belted waist and the way the skirt falls look great on her and I think it was an elegant choice.

Lupita Nyong’o wearing Michael Kors Collection. This look is stunning. I love the shade of the dress and how it complements her skin so beautifully. It’s a simple dress, but in this case the simplicity goes a long way.

Rachel Brosnahan wearing Carolina Herrera. There were a few orange colored dresses on this red carpet which is a color I wasn’t expecting. I really love the shape of this dress, and of course the bow belt.

Florence Pugh wearing Prada. Hands down my favorite look of the night. I’m a silver kind of girl and this gown WOW. Beautifully styled from the jewelry to shoes and the silver makeup topped off the look. Absolutely love this and it may be my favorite red carpet look of the season thus far.

Anne Hathaway wearing Atelier Versace. Another one of my favorites of the night. The deep v-neck and sleeves look great on her.

Kristen Bell wearing Cong Tri. Another color I wasn’t expecting to see is lime green. This color is a hard one to pull off but she did so and it looks fantastic. I’m really loving the pant suits this season as well.

Cynthia Erivo wearing Fendi Haute Couture. WOW see looks great in this gown! Not everyone can pull this off because it’s a bold print. The sleeves are so fun and the geometric vibe of the gown is really intriguing.

Andrew Scott. Wearing a red suit paired with pink was enough for me to put this look on the best dressed list.

Olivia Wilde wearing Valentino. Another dress with coral! She looks so chic in this dress and the sleeves designed with the deep v-neck give it a bit of edge.

Wanda Sykes. Love love love this white and black suit ensemble.

Kate Beckinsale wearing Julien x Gabriela. This gown is just absolutely stunning. I really like the cape-like sleeve.

Chloe Bridges wearing Azeeza. A bold red! Love the sheer sleeves that then create a halter neck top.

Lucy Hale wearing Miu Miu. This mint green hue looks stunning on her, and I love the black bow belt with the crystals.

Kennedy McMann wearing Georges Chakra. The neckline is so flattering and the fringe hem adds some fun, along with the back bow train (ahhh!! I need this)

Jennifer Lahmers. Adore this all navy power suit look. Love how the pants cut up to add some edge with the v-neck.

Niecy Nash wearing Tadashi Shoji. I’m really loving the green and blue on this gown. The off-the-shoulder is so pretty.

Alana Arenas. I really like this dress which is surprising to me because I normally don’t like the cut of this type of skirt. I love a floral print, especially in these colors!

Worst Dressed

Zendaya wearing Tom Ford. I was really surprised when people were saying that they loved this look, but sometimes people just think of the person in it rather than the look as a whole. This dress is not designed well and to me looks a bit cheap. I know Zendaya can do better!

Amy Sherman-Palladino. I’m not too sure what’s going on throughout this dress. I do like the green and purple colors together but definitely think she could’ve done better.

Billy Porter wearing Hogan Mclaughlin. I don’t like the style or the colors of this jumpsuit. Not too sure of the slit at the middle of the top-part.

Betty Gilpin. I love the sunset colors, but the top portion of this gown is not flattering.

Joey King. The dress looks like tin foil to me. But she doesn’t look horrible in it, the fit of the dress complements her nicely.

Alex Borstein. Love her, but this is not a red carpet look.

Janet Mock wearing Valentino. Really just not a fan of this dress, at all.

Susannah Grant. Another dress that just isn’t meant for a red carpet.

Susan Kelechi Watson wearing Galia Lahav. I’m not a fan of the mesh cut-out front, it would look better if it were all white. The back of the gown is pretty and looks nice on her.
