Although Louis Vuitton didn’t have the best dressed celebrities at this years Met Gala; a few to name are Emma Stone, Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner, and Laura Harrier. But, their Resort 2020 collection that debuted last week was great.
Now, when you first look at the collection you may not be such a fan, it took me a second and third glance at it to understand and appreciate a lot of the pieces used in the looks. The entire looks may not be my cup of tea, but I’m a huge fan of some of the pieces in this collection like the bat-wing sleeved tops and striped bubble skirts. I got superhero, 80s, and futuristic vibes from this collection.
Beaded lace was seen on leather jackets, which would make a super chic statement at the club, or over a dinner party dress. The cropped satin and suede jackets that featured city skylines with matching skirts were a favorite of mine, and I loved the use of pattern gloves(I’ve been trying to get my hands on a pair for this summer.) I couldn’t help but imagine all the outfits I could create with the satin blue skirt with covered buttons; the color is perfect and length as well with a middle slit that not only makes it easy to walk in, but playful as well.
My absolute favorite piece from the collection has to be the butterfly capelets. How fun, unique, and different is this piece?
Drumroll please…. introducing the LV classic logo bag now featuring a flexible digital screen set into the side of the bag. Now THIS is technology and fashion coming together. Imagine being able to put videos of your choice on the side of your handbag, one of your furry friend and one of that destination you’ll never forget visiting? This is cool and I can’t wait to see how the rest of the fashion world interprets this.
This collection was a mix of past and the future, and I can’t wait to see street style taken to the next level with this collection, especially with the new LV digital screen bag. Lets just say I would definitely buy one of those.
