Kate Spade just launched their new collection and Spring Summer 2019 campaign today and it’s feminine, whimsical, and totally me.
This is Nicola Glass’, the Creative Director of Kate Spade, first campaign for the brand, and it totally won me over. When I heard that the brand was taking a new direction I got a little scared, sometimes when brands take a new direction it can be bad, but let me tell you, Glass nailed it.
When I viewed the runway show online last September I absolutely loved it, and it made me want it to be spring/summer just as fall was beginning. This is Nicola Glass’ first collection for the brand, and it was shown during NYFW. From the reworked spade symbol, to dresses covered in whimsical floral patterns topped off with matching head scarves, it was a dreamy runway show.
One of my favorite photographers, Tim Walker, shot the Spring/Summer campaign, and I could tell right off the bat. He took the Kate Spade world and did a magnificent job bringing it into life with the photos. The campaign took me into the whimsical world of Kate Spade and made me remember why I love the brand so much. Never steering away from its feminine, girly roots. I want to be in this magical world he captured, and I also want EVERYTHING from the collection.
