Karl Lagerfeld never fails to take the Chanel shows to another place. From launching a rocket ship to a beach, and even a grocery store, the scenes never disappoint, as the clothes never do either. For this couture show Lagerfeld turned the Grand Palais into an Italian Villa sure making us all long even more for sunnier days.
Chanel will always be my favorite. Maybe it’s because whenever you see a Chanel, you know it’s one before seeing the label. The house’s signature tweed looks are timeless and I love how every season they reimagine them. This couture collection felt like a breath of fresh air. All the pastel colors, flowing feathers, and floral embroidery embodied my dreams of spring/summer wear.
Lagerfeld reminded us all not to toss our leather jackets. Pairing them with feminine feather pieces and dresses made for the perfect edgy chic but still totally girly, whimsical, and playful aesthetic. He was inspired by the 18th century for this collection, and the hair was as well. I loved how different it was compared to how hair is styled at other shows.
Chanel’s spring bride wore a one-piece floral encrusted swimsuit with a matching swim cap and sparkly veil. Lets just say I’m going to be very jealous if anyone ever gets to wear it. I’ll be planning imaginary photoshoots of me wearing that on my imaginary honeymoon tonight.
Here are my favorite looks from the collection
Before I go, lets get a good look at this major hair
