Ever since watching Gossip Girl for the first time about five years ago, Blair Waldorf’s iconic, preppy style has inspired me. It may have taken a while (about 3-4 years) to dress how I wanted to and imagined for years, but now that I am, it’s made me realize the one person who completely inspired me is Blair Waldorf.
Although fictional, she made me realize that I never was the girl that wanted to dress casual, I’ve always wanted to dress up everyday for every occasion, but it took me quite a while to actually start doing this. Blair’s style is completely iconic and people still refer to her today. I still see images from her outfits on the show pop up on my Pinterest, Twitter, and Instagram feeds daily.
Whether it be school, a gala, a girls day shopping in Paris, or just a casual day scheming, this character really did dress to the nines. All of her looks are so put together and so well thought out from head to toe. She manages to look fashionable and chic, while staying classy- which is exactly what I want my style to emulate.
She knew how to mix prints, wear bright colors, and was an expert at matching her accessories flawlessly. She inspired me to start wearing lace and fishnet tights, which have quickly have become one of my wardrobe must-haves for this fall/winter season. I’ve realized that I love to keep things interesting, fun, and unique with the way I dress; Blair Waldorf is the one person who comes to mind when I think of who to take inspiration from.
It’s so hard to chose my favorite outfits that Blair Waldorf wore, so I’m going to share a few of her fall/winter looks down below that are inspiring me this season.
If I shared all the outfits I loved, well, it would be pages long. Even though Blair Waldorf is a fictional character, she’s still my ultimate style icon. Taking different pieces and styling them differently and unique to you is so fun and what fashion is all about to me. Now, who’s your style icon?
